Installing Viswoo on touch Android displays and kiosks.

Menu names may differ slightly depending on the software version.

Kiosk displays usually run Android with a tablet interface, not Android TV. Touch add-ons need the device to report touch support.

What you need

  • The device and its power adapter
  • An internet connection (Wi-Fi or cable)
  • A Viswoo account (a user who can sign in to the panel)
  • A FAT32-formatted USB stick if you install from USB
  1. Open viswoo.com/en/install in the browser of the device (with a setup key: viswoo.com/en/install/your-key).
  2. Press Download Viswoo (APK).
  3. When the download finishes, open the file. If you see an “unknown sources” warning, allow it.
  4. Choose Install, then Open.

Install from USB

  1. In the panel, go to Screens → Setup keys → Create key and download the Personal APK.
  2. Copy the APK to a USB stick and plug it into the device.
  3. Open the stick with the file manager on the device (e.g. Files) and click the APK.
  4. When installation finishes, open Viswoo; the personal APK connects to your account without a code.
  5. If Viswoo is already installed: copy the USB file (viswoo-kurulum.json) to the stick, choose Choose setup file from USB on the pairing screen and pick the file.

Start automatically on boot

  1. If the kiosk settings have a Startup app option, select Viswoo.
  2. Otherwise, set Viswoo as the home app.

Pairing

  1. If you used a setup key, the screen connects by itself and appears as a “New screen” under Screens in the panel.
  2. Without a key, the screen shows a 6-digit code and a QR code. In the panel, go to Screens → Add screen and type the code, or scan the QR code with a phone.
  3. The code renews every few minutes; enter the code currently on the screen.

Check

If the screen looks green in the panel and the content you assigned is playing, setup is complete.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause Fix
No code on screen, it says “Connecting to the server” No or weak internet connection Check the Wi-Fi settings of the device; use a cable if you can.
“Unknown sources” warning Android blocks installing apps from outside the store by default Open Settings from the warning and allow only the app you opened the APK with. You can turn it off after installation.
Used a setup key but a code appeared The key expired, is used up, or your plan screen limit is reached Create a new key in the panel, or connect with the code on the screen.
Video stutters The device cannot decode very high-resolution video Upload the video in 1080p; images play without issues.

Known limitations

  • Touch support is unverified information; the panel may show “unknown”.
  • Kiosk lock in phase 2.
