Google TV has no browser; the APK is downloaded with the free Downloader app. Google TV restricts starting apps on boot, so auto start must be checked separately.
What you need
- The device and its power adapter
- An internet connection (Wi-Fi or cable)
- A Viswoo account (a user who can sign in to the panel)
- A FAT32-formatted USB stick if you install from USB
Quick setup (recommended)
- Install the free Downloader app from Google Play.
- Open developer options by pressing Settings → System → About → Android TV OS build seven times; in Apps → Security → Unknown apps, allow Downloader.
- Type viswoo.com/en/install (with a key: viswoo.com/en/install/your-key) into Downloader and download the APK.
- Choose Install, then Open.
Install from USB
- In the panel, go to Screens → Setup keys → Create key and download the Personal APK.
- Copy the APK to a USB stick and plug it into the device.
- Open the stick with the file manager on the device (e.g. Files) and click the APK.
- When installation finishes, open Viswoo; the personal APK connects to your account without a code.
- If Viswoo is already installed: copy the USB file (
viswoo-kurulum.json) to the stick, choose Choose setup file from USB on the pairing screen and pick the file.
Start automatically on boot
- Google TV restricts starting other apps on boot. The working method for this device will be determined in our lab.
- For now you may need to open Viswoo once with the remote after the device starts.
Pairing
- If you used a setup key, the screen connects by itself and appears as a “New screen” under Screens in the panel.
- Without a key, the screen shows a 6-digit code and a QR code. In the panel, go to Screens → Add screen and type the code, or scan the QR code with a phone.
- The code renews every few minutes; enter the code currently on the screen.
Check
If the screen looks green in the panel and the content you assigned is playing, setup is complete.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No code on screen, it says “Connecting to the server” | No or weak internet connection | Check the Wi-Fi settings of the device; use a cable if you can. |
| “Unknown sources” warning | Android blocks installing apps from outside the store by default | Open Settings from the warning and allow only the app you opened the APK with. You can turn it off after installation. |
| Used a setup key but a code appeared | The key expired, is used up, or your plan screen limit is reached | Create a new key in the panel, or connect with the code on the screen. |
| Video stutters | The device cannot decode very high-resolution video | Upload the video in 1080p; images play without issues. |
Known limitations
- Starting on boot is not guaranteed.
- No remote reboot.
